TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN

JFK+50:  Volume 7, No. 2195

DONALD J. TRUMP INAUGURATED AS 45TH POTUS

Washington, D.C. (JFK+50) Fifty-five years ago today, January 20, 1961, John F. Kennedy was sworn in as the 35th President of the United States.  Today, Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 45th President.

JFK's Inauguration Day followed a snowstorm which blanketed the Nation's Capital while DJT's ID was marked by much warmer temperatures and a light rainfall.

President Kennedy challenged the American people to "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," while President Trump, following up on his campaign theme, said...

"Together, we will make America strong again.  We will make America wealthy again...proud again...safe again and...great again."

And Vanessa Friedman of the New York Times writes that new First Lady Melania Trump's* "powder blue cashmere dress and matching bolero jacket along with a bouffant (and) mock turtleneck collar...(is) a clear reference...to Jacqueline Kennedy."

*Melania Trump was born on April 26, 1970 in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.  She became a permanent resident of the USA in 2001, married Donald Trump in 2005 & became a U.S. citizen in 2006.  MT is only the 2nd 1st Lady of foreign birth, the 1st being the wife of John Quincy Adams, Louisa.
